Risk Statement and Disclaimer
RRS 3 states: ‘The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to continue to race is hers alone.’ By participating in this event each competitor agrees and acknowledges that sailing is a potentially dangerous activity with inherent risks. These risks may include strong winds and rough seas, sudden changes in weather, failure of equipment, boat handling errors, poor seamanship by other boats, loss of balance on an unstable platform seasickness, dehydration, heatstroke and fatigue resulting in increased risk of injury. Inherent in the sport of sailing is the risk of permanent, catastrophic injury or death by drowning, trauma, hypothermia or other causes.
Competitors will participate entirely at their own risk. The organising authority will not accept any liability for personal or material damage, injury or death, sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during or after the event. The organising authority disclaims any and all liability.lity.
Entrant Waiver:
As an registered entrant in this event, I acknowledge the above risk, and agree that the decision to race remains with myself. The organising authority, officials and volunteers are released from any liability relating to my decision to race or to continue to race.
I also confirm the boat entered herewith holds the required insurance as outlined in the event's Notice of Race.
